Dying Easter Eggs

While we were waiting to be discharged from the hospital on Easter Sunday, Kylee got to get into the Easter spirit with Nana and Grandad. Thet dyed some Easter eggs! Kylee was very excited to explain the process to us and she was completely amused by peeling the eggs for me to eat throughout the week. Thanks Nana and Grandad!

Anytime stickers are involved it is a big hit! : )

Welcome Ryland!

Kylee is proud to announce the arrival of her little brother . . . Ryland Joseph Cookson! He was born at 3:13 pm on Friday, April 2. Ryland weighed 7 lbs. 15 oz. and is 20 1/4 inches long. So far Kylee has been very gentle and amused with her little brother. (We will see how she feels on day 2 and beyond.) : )

Enjoying the Neighborhood

It has definitely been a while since I have updated with some new pictures but things have been a little busy around here with moving, finishing off the school year (for me!), and just keeping up with Kylee! : )

We have definitely been enjoying living in a neighborhood. It is nice to be able to go outside and walk along a sidewalk and actually say hello to other people. It did take a while for us to get used to watching that Kylee didn't run into the street but we have been able to let our guard down on her running into bears! : )

Here are some recent pictures from a little trip around the neighborhood after school one day.

First we went for a "drive" down the sidewalk.

Then we were off to one of the ponds ...

Kylee loves sitting and watching the geese and ducks swim around.

And we couldn't make it home without stopping for one of Kylee's favorite activities . . . throwing sticks off the bridge and into the pond.

This is Great!

Kylee has a large bucket of balls (like the ones from ball pits) that we play with. One day (during the snow storm) Pete and I started throwing them at each other and Kylee thought this was the funniest thing. Since then, she has told us to "come here" and put us in separate corners of the room. She then takes the bucket of balls and says "throw" so we start launching them at one another. The best is that Kylee then takes a seat on the table or couch and just watches the game. : )

The last time we played this, I taught Kylee how to sneak up on Daddy and pretend she didn't have any balls to throw at him. This is how she did! : )

Kidz Play Indoor Playground

After all the snow hit, we were all itching to get out of the house. We found an indoor playground to take Kylee too that turned out to be a lot of fun. It took her a while to warm up to the things that were there since there were so many people there. First she tried out all the "toddler" houses and slides.

She was dying to go up in the pirate ship. Of course she technically wasn't allowed because of her age but once all the "big" kids were gone we let her give it a whirl.

This is what I got when I told Kylee to "Say Cheese!" : )

It took A LOT of convincing and some practice jumps on the ramp that led into the bounce house but once she got in there, Kylee was in her glory. She figured out how to climb up the ramp ...

... and go down the slide that was inside.

Then she spent quite a bit of time jumping around inside. : )

A Kylee Video

I just wanted to try out the video feature on my camera and see if I could get a video up on the blog. Enjoy! : )

More Snowed In Activities

We are on Day number 8 of being homebound/snowbound. The good news is that there is an end in sight and we MIGHT be getting out of the house today (definitely tomorrow!) Kylee has been great though and keeps finding more ways to amuse herself. Here are some of the newest activites from our house:

Drawing . . .

Drawing on the windows and mirrors (always a fun activity!) ...

Playing with window clings ...

And last but not least . . . "stickering" Daddy's face! : )

Although we have been homebound for over a week it has been nice to be able to just stay home and spend some time together. But hopefully the next post will show pictures of us somewhere other than the house! : )
