Burke Nursery

Kylee and I took advantage of the nice weather, and Pete's late night tutoring, and went to Burke Nursery's Pumpkin Playground. There was a lot for Kylee to do there and we had a great time! The Pirate Ship and Giant Slide were the two biggest attractions for us so we spent a lot of time there! Kylee also enjoyed driving all of the different things that were there.

Here are some pictures of our night at The Pumpkin Playground:

(Grandad will be happy to know that the slide required me to walk up the stairs with a rug and sometimes carrying Kylee. She walked when the line behind us wasn't too long. Of course it wasn't even close to the size of the slide that he used to carry me up at Dutch Wonderland. : ) No pictures this time since I was on the slide with her.)

Hartland Orchards Take 2

We decided to go back to Hartland Orchards this weekend. The weather was MUCH nicer this time and we got to spend the day with Grammie, Grandpa, Aunt Laurie, and Aunt Sue. There was a lot to do there and we all had a great time.

We started out at the corn maze.

Hmmm ... which way should we go?
We took a detour out of the maze though and headed to "Slide Mountain." This was definitely one of the highlights for Kylee. She went down with Daddy ...

with Mommy ...

with Aunt Sue ...

and all by herself!

The actual apple orchard was also a big part of the day. Kylee was a great helper and picked quite a few apples from the trees.

She carried the apples over and put them in the bag when she was done picking.

After all that picking, she needed to relax and enjoy her apple.

Kylee even helped Daddy use the apple picker to reach the apples that were way up in the tree.

Kylee was also VERY interested in the fuzzy caterpillar that was walking around.

We had a GREAT day and are already looking forward to going back next year!

Baking Brownies with Mommy

Kylee helped me make a batch of brownies today. I wasn't sure if this was going to be a good idea or a complete disaster but as you can see from the pictures it turned out just fine and with no disasters! Kylee actually did a really good job "helping."

She waited patiently for her next job ...

She helped pour in all of the ingredients (except the egg) ...

She mixed and mixed and mixed ...

And finally . . . she got to try some of the batter! After the first taste she kept repeating "more" "more." : )

Hartland Orchards

We decided to head out to a pumpkin patch today, complete with a mountain slide, corn maze, and hayride! Turns out though that by the time we got there the rain really started to come down so nothing was really up and running anymore. We did get a chance to hang out with the goats a bit and Kylee had fun feeding them.

I've also added a new ticker to the side of the blog if you want to keep up with our newest little one and his/her "expected" arrival. Enjoy! : )

Go Patriots!!!

Even though the Patriots don't play their first game until tomorrow night we thought it was fitting to get Kylee ready for the first Football Sunday of the season!

Daddy and Kylee are definitely ready for a new football season.

Natural Bridge Trip

This past weekend we traveled to the Natural Bridge to spend some time there with Grammie and Grandpa. We had a great time and one of the highlights of the trip was the Natural Bridge Safari. We decided to take the car through instead of the wagon and Pete ended up vacuuming the car 3 times due to the mess of food that ended up in the car!?!?! We weren't sure how Kylee was going to react to being so close to the animals but she did great and really liked looking at them poke their heads in the car . . . I think she was also very amused that she didn't have to sit in her carseat for the ride. : )

Hmmm . . . those animals look pretty close to the car.

Here is one of the camels eating out of Grammie's bucket. This was a pretty "well behaved" camel. Grandpa tried to feed a camel and he stuck his head so far in the car that he could just about lick Pete who was in the driver's seat (NOT an exaggeration!)

Kylee liked to wave to the animals as they stuck their heads in to get some of Grammie's food.

We were also able to walk around the rest of the Safari Park and visit some of the other areas. This included the farm animals that Kylee was able to feed ...

... and some other animals to look at like the flamingos.

Fun on the Porch

With the nice weather, we have been spending a lot of time on our backporch playing. With her slide, car, and tub of toys outside this has quickly become one of Kylee's favorite play areas. Here are some pictures of her playing in her house on the porch today. Enjoy! : )

PEEK-A-BOO!
