Recent Pics

As seems to be my usual fashion, I have updated the blog with quite a few posts all in one day. Instead of making one long post with pictures, I put them in different posts so it was easier to keep track of.

As always, thanks for "Keeping Up with the Cooksons."

These are just some pictures from a little "photo shoot" we had at home the other day but I thought they were too cute to not post (but I am a little biased on the cuteness.) : )

Kylee is sporting some pig tails!

Ryland is sporting a huge smile!

An "Old" Video

I forgot to post this video with all the pictures from "Fun with Aunt Laura." Here is some great footage of Kylee's and Aunt Laura's dance party.

Playing Outside

I took the kids outside to play with all of our outdoor toys. With the sun and heat we needed to have a shady place to rest too (especially for Ryland.)

Here are the "his and hers" tents set up. : )

Kylee reading in her tent ...

and Ryland sleeping in his.

Kylee seemed to want to drink the water from her water ring more than get sprayed with it.

Getting ready for the roller coasters! (Seriously, we took Kylee's "car" down the driveway and picked up some good speed. I even tried it out a few times myself just for fun!)

Kylee has enjoyed playing with her bean bag toss ... and has gotten pretty good at it too.

Fun with Friends

With the nice weather we have been having we decided to head back to Frying Pan Farm Park. This time we were able to meet up with some friends.

Looking at the peacock with Brayden. (This is Kylee's and Brayden's favorite animal to watch.)

All the kids liked watching the pigs. This is Brayden, Kylee, and Charlotte looking at the mother and babies in the barn.

Charlotte and Kylee headed back to look at the peacock a little more.

After lunch, we decided to head to the playground. It turns out that everyone at the farm (including 5 buses of school kids!?!) had the same idea. With so many kids on the playground, we decided to let the kids play in the field near by. Charlotte had a soccer ball in the car so Kylee was very happy with this idea.
Kylee and Brayden played with the ball together very nicely . . . sometimes kicking it and sometimes throwing it. (Charlotte decided she would rather run around the field.) : )

After a little while, the playground seemed to clear up a bit so Julie (Brayden's mom) and I decided to let the kids go over and play for a bit.

Last week, we headed over to the Sutters' house to play with some water toys. Once the girls were ready, Markeen turned on the water ball and filled the water table and they had a lot of fun.
Here are some pictures of Kylee and Leighton playing (and having lunch) together.

The little brothers hung out a little bit too. It was really hard work to watch the girls play all day. : ) (Ryland and Nolan are 3 weeks apart -- Nolan was actually born on Kylee's birthday!)

Portrait Innovations

It was that time to update Kylee's professional pictures so we headed to Portrait Innovations for our appointment. I was excited to get some sister / brother pictures too and saw some cute "Big Sis" and "Little Bro" shirts at Babies R Us. We bought them to take to the photo shoot with us.

As you can see . . . we didn't start out with two happy models. : )

But we were able to get some really good sibling shots!

And a decent family photo.

Ryland is 1 month!

Well Ryland is one month old (and a few extra days by now.) His check-up went well and he is already up to 10 pounds! I guess that is because of all the push-ups he has been doing to put on the extra weight / muscle. : )

Fun with Aunt Laura

Kylee had a fun little "first" with Aunt Laura this past week. She was very intrigued by Aunt Laura's pink toes and to our surprise said yes when Laura asked if she wanted her toes painted too. She picked purple and the painting began.

Kylee kept a very close eye on what Aunt Laura was doing the whole time.

All Done! (and Kylee loved looking at her new purple toes . . . and showing them to others).

Of course, we (mainly I) have decided that this would be a nice little "Aunt Laura and Kylee activity." Since I would like the two of them to have this special time and memory together I am going to make the sacrifice to not paint Kylee's nails . . . only with Aunt Laura. : ) (As you probably know I am not much of a "girly girl" and painted nails are not really my thing -- but it sounds better to say that I'm making the sacrifce for Kylee.) : )

After the nail painting extravaganza . . . Aunt Laura and Kylee had a little dance party in the living room. : )

B-I-N-G-O

The other morning, after we had read EVERY book in the house for the 5th time in a row, I decided to see if Kylee was up for a game of Bingo. Surprisingly, we played longer than I had expected and Kylee was doing a great job . . . we are still working on the whole idea of yelling "Bingo" but she did a good job marking the squares.

First, you have to spin ...
Then, find the right square (or Disney character) ...
Most importantly, mark the square ...
Ryland was there to cheer us on during the game too. : )
